On the 12th of March, we visited Tobacco Dock in London, where an event called “EGX Rezzed” was taking place. At the event, there were different rooms full of upcoming games that aren’t out yet. There was also a conference room where talks took place, where people talked about games and stuff.
I haven’t ever been to an event like this, so it was more interesting than I think it would’ve been if I’d have been to other events before. It was pretty small compared to other massive events such as Insomnia, Eurogamer or Pax.
You are allowed to play these upcoming games and not just look at them.
They had a large area dedicated to Indie games, so that was good for me and my game, as it’s an Indie game.
There were a lot of games featured at the event, so that was good. Also, you could sit down at almost any game you wanted and give it a try. There were things I didn’t like as well, like I didn’t like most of the games that were featured.
I learnt that you can implement cross-platform control, where you can use two different game platforms such as the iPad and iPhone, have the controls on the iPhone, and the game display on the iPad.
it was a good experience to have, and I would recommend going to this event as it’s cheap, and you can play upcoming games for free before they’re out, so when a game releases, you’ll know if you’ll like it or not.
